Cours Saleya – Market

Cours Saleya – Market

The Cours Saleya is located in the entrance of the Old City.  It’s known for the  flower market that takes place there, but we often go there as well for its general market to buy fresh food, particularly organic vegetables.  It opens from 6:00 AM to noon and is closed on Monday (there is an antique market on Monday).     Lots of local people come here for shopping too.  3 euros for the plate is a really good deal!           Farmers come here with their own products.  There are many Organic (BIO) stands as well.          ...

For Cheese Lovers

For Cheese Lovers

You love cheese? Then try this cheese restaurant in Old Nice. You can get cheese made dishes from appetizers to desert. Cheese dishes are quite simple but they taste naturally so good. A bottle of all natural BIO wine will help you to digest. Don’t worry as this place will let you take the bottle with you and enjoy it in the following days. A cheese buffet is also available so try the...

Our best choice Italian

Our best choice Italian

At the entrance of the Court Saleya in the old city, this is probably our favorite restaurant in town for a simple, good, fast and inexpensive meal. We go there a lot, for good and copious meals, served promptly and with courteousness, and at a very reasonable price.  Nothing fancy nor special, just plain good Italian. The restaurant doesn’t accept reservation and as it is VERY popular, we recommend you go there early to avoid having to wait for a table.   One detail that each dishes are huge, so I suggest you to take one Entree and one main for two person. LA VOGLIA 2,...

The Old city

The Old city

The old city of Nice feels like a medieval village with narrow streets curving between old buildings with red-tile roofs, small restaurants, artisans and artists, open-markets, and some of the best ice-cream (gelato) in the world.   it’s a nice part of the city, with restaurants and shops, little squares and numerous narrow streets full of stores with local products. Don’t miss the beautiful waterfall and green area of the castle hill, that gets illuminated at night.   One of the main charms of Nice is the old city, “la vielle ville” or “vieux...
