We love it! The main winter event on the Riviera is one of the largest carnivals in the world. Each year, whenever we are in Nice at the end of February or the beginning of March, we really enjoy the Nice Carnival.
On the Promenade des Anglais, the “flower battles” are something quite special to Nice. On floats, decorated with the most stunning floral compositions, extravagantly dressed characters throw out mimosas, gerberas, and lilies into the public … And the battle between people to get these flowers are always fun to watch.
Then we have the carnival processions, with numerous floats turning around the Place Masséna among gigantic decorations and an incredible crowd. The nights, the same processions go around with lights, music, and fun.
These giant, colorful parades take place day and night, with entertainment provided by over 1,000 musicians and dancers from across the world.

In view of the current health crisis and the attendance that such an event generates, the Nice Carnival “King of the Animals”, initially scheduled from 13 to 27 February 2021, has been postponed to 2022.
